Brave Little Patients
Stacie Skiano, M.S., PA-C

Brave Little Patients was born from my family’s mission to make medical experiences less frightening for our own child, and to empower her to be brave during scary experiences.
I'm Stacie C. Skiano, M.S., PA-C, a pediatric surgery physician associate and mom, and this work blends clinical expertise, child development principles, and the comforting power of story-telling.
What began as a single bedtime story to help our daughter feel brave has grown into a full series of medically accurate, emotionally supportive resources trusted by parents and healthcare professionals alike.

Our Brave and Ready book series, caregiver guides, and activity materials transform medical preparation into meaningful connection. Each resource is reviewed by our Medical Advisory Board of pediatric specialists to ensure the information is accurate, inclusive, and aligned with current best practices.

When children understand what’s happening, they feel safe. When parents feel supported, they can guide with confidence. Together, we’re building a world where every little patient can be both brave and ready.

All of our stories and parent resources are reviewed by a multidisciplinary medical board, including pediatric surgeons, nurses, and child-life specialists to ensure every word reflects current, evidence-based best practices. You can trust our materials to be both medically accurate and emotionally supportive.

Our Commitment:
We believe preparation builds confidence. Through story, play, and education, Brave Little Patients helps families replace fear with understanding, turning each visit, procedure, and recovery into an opportunity for courage and connection.
